Each UAMS department or division must have a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) to ensure it can continue or resume
essential operations after any kind of emergency or disruption. BCPs are intended to reduce the impact of
inevitable interruptions to utilities, networks, our supply chain, infrastructure and so forth.
These plans are built with a template that helps users to:
Identify essential operations
Build a checklist of high-priority action items for use during emergencies
Document important resources, supplies and services that are crucial to restoring or continuing essential operations
The Emergency Management Department reviews and approves BCPs. They are also reviewed annually and used in planned exercises and
simulations to validate and improve them.
